J.R.R Tolkien
J.R.R Tolkien is a very famous author of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Hobbit. These are my favorite books and also favorite movies. Tolkien works have been very inspirational not only in my writing but also my life, conveying many positive messages; such as, everybody plays their role and is important, even if they do not realize it at first. His writing style is very different from that of books I normally read, but the way he conveys message and meaning. It is very difficult to set one of his books down.
John Green
John Green is a very current popular author, of two of my favorite books; "An Abundance of Katherines" and "The Fault In Our Stars". These two novels tell the stories of truly remarkable kids, I was uncle to put either book down and finished each in under a day. The stories, while having great plot lines, each convey meanings that I believe applicable to everyday life and also the greater picture of life. From an abundance of Katherine I learned that sometimes stepping out of our comfort zones will set us on our path and enable us to become bigger and better people.
Scott Mescudi
Scott Mescudi is a popular rap artist, commonly known as Kid Cudi, is one of my favorite artists. His songs spread positive messages and truths about life. One of my favorite songs "Pursuit of Happiness" is one of my absolute favorite songs of all time. Although I do wish that his some of his songs did not use vulgar language, his messages and lyrics have stood out to me. In "Pursuit of Happiness" he talks about how to get to happiness we may have to endure some struggles and challenges along the way, but our destination is what matter.
Sarah Dessen
Sarah Dessen is the author of many great books, my personal favorite being "Along For The Ride". I have read the majority of her novels multiple times, however, I have read this particular one at least ten times. The messages that she weaves throughout the story line have left their impact with me. From these books I have learned that it's not only the destination that matter but also how we get there and who we share this adventure with. Our friends and family are important parts in our lives and we need to make the most of these valuable people while we have them, never take our lives for granted. Sarah Dessen's books are amazing and hard to set down.
